Children's Defense Fund
The Children's Defense Fund is a non-profit child advocacy organization that has worked relentlessly for 35 years to ensure a level playing field for all children. They champion policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education, and a moral and spiritual foundation. Supported by foundation and corporate grants and individual donations, CDF advocates nationwide on behalf of children to ensure children are always a priority.

Contemporary Arts Center
"It's Not Your Fault" Program
It's Not Your Fault! is an innovative program for children of divorce
and separation. The program, held at the CAC in
collaboration with Voices For Children, was designed for children ages
5-16 and utilizes the arts to allow them to express their feelings of
sadness, confusion and sometimes anger in a creative, constructive
manner.

Edible SchoolYard New Orleans
Started in the Fall of 2006, ESY NOLA is working to revive and promote
the rich gardening and culinary heritages of New Orleans while
providing hands-on growing and cooking experiences for public school
students at Green Charter and Arthur Ashe Charter Schools. Students in
grades K-8 participate in gardening and cooking lessons that reinforce
classroom coursework in core subjects (science, social studies,
language and math.

Kid Camera Project
The New Orleans Kid Camera Project was created to address the
psychological and emotional impacts of Hurricane Katrina on children
returning home to New Orleans. Through the use of photography,
creative writing and mixed media, children from flooded neighborhoods
explore their environment and express themselves, their stories and
feelings with their friends.
