Babs Johnson is a lifelong child advocate and the Founder/Director of
Voices For Children, a non-profit organization established in 1997 to
assist children in the transition of divorce or separation. Her
parenting seminar for families in transition has been mandatory since
1998 in the 24th Judicial District Court. Since 2005, children in
divorce or custody cases aged 5-16 are also required to attend
"It's Not Your Fault!" an innovative arts based program.
In 1999 Johnson received The Liberty Bell Award from the New Orleans
Bar Association.
Since Katrina, Johnson helped launch the Small Playground Initiative.
Johnson serves on the Board of Young Aspirations/Young Artists
(YAYA), a 20 year program that empowers artistically talented youth to
be professionally self-sufficient through creative self-expression.
