is one of the leading philanthropists in New Orleans. For 31 years
he worked for Lykes Bros. Steamship Company, and for eight years served as
Vice President. In 1996 he founded The Howell Company, a private investment
company specializing in women’s start-up companies.
Mr. Colton currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Audubon
Stables, Xavier Preparatory School, National Museum of Racing and Sweet Briar
College. He is a former Board member of the New Orleans Museum of Art,
Children’s Hospital and Friends of the Vatican Pavilion of the South, of which
he served as President.
